Lenovo V15 G4 - Raptor Lake

Adding another iteration to the impressive business-oriented lineup we have the Lenovo V15 G4 which takes office computing to a completely new level, all thanks to Intel’s Raptor Lake Series of Processors.

Design

The design philosophy is mostly accommodated by the Business Black appearance of the notebook, and on top of that, the top comes textured which helps in providing more grip. For the overall chassis, the top and bottom both are crafted from ABS plastic that adds lightness to the overall product.

13th Generation Core i5 CPU

Enabling the package to handle complex operations is the Intel Core i5 13420H 13th Generation Raptor Lake Processor. It is a high performance-oriented unit as it packs inside a package of 4 performance cores, and 4 efficiency cores, that enables it to outperform all sorts of single and multicore operation efficiently, alongside a set of 12 threads that assists with the multithreaded applications, also an Intel Smart Cache of 12 MB.

The performance ones are clocked at a base clock frequency of 1.5 GHz, so they can be overclocked to a maximum of 3.40 GHz, to add more and more functionality in its resume. Meanwhile, the efficiency cores make sure that the power consumption of the unit is limited to around 45 watts to 95 watts, this is done to maximize the provided battery so that the notebook can last longer.

Apart from central processing, graphical processing is also executed by the integrated Intel UHD Graphics, with a Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency of 1.40 Ghz, which enables the device to handle heavy-duty applications like rendering, 3d modeling, and even light gaming.

Memory & Storage

Assisting with the multitasking performance of the product is the 8GB of onboard Soldered DDR4 memory running at a memory transfer rate of 3200 MT/s. For the upgradability of the system, one is soldered to the system board, and one DDR4 SO-DIMM slot, making it dual-channel capable and open for increasing the capability for more capable multitasking.

All the operating system and necessary files are stored over the PCIe Gen NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive which holds a capacity of 512 GB. The storage can also be upgraded by swapping the M.2 drive with a higher capacity one or simply adding a 2.5-inch SSD for mass storage.

Display

The content is processed and projected over the 15.6-inch TN panel which is capable of displaying at a resolution of Full HD 1920 x 1080. While also reaches a max attainable brightness of 250 nits making it usable in difficult lighting conditions, while having an Anti-glare surface for minimizing reflections, and covering 45% of the NTSC space.

Keyboard and Trackpad

The device comes with a Non-backlit, English (UK) keyboard and a Buttonless fully clickable Mylar® surface multi-touch touchpad, supports Precision Touchpad with multi-gesture support (PTP), 62 x 104 mm (2.44 x 4.09 inches)

Battery

The provided battery of the notebook boasts a capacity of 38Wh and is refueled using the 65W Round Tip (3-pin) AC Adapter.

The device offers versatile connectivity over 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB-C® 3.2 Gen 1 that supports data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort™ 1.2, 1x HDMI® 1.4b

1x Headphone/microphone combo jack (3.5mm), 1x Ethernet (RJ-45), 1x Power connector. While the wireless signals are channeled by the 11ac 2x2 + BT5.1 wireless card.

The audio setup is powered by the High Definition (HD) Audio, Realtek® ALC3287 codec, while the output is handled by the Stereo speakers, each providing a 1.5-watt output, and also supports Dolby Audio.

The system also comes with a 2x digital microphone Array and an HD 720p webcam with a physical Privacy Shutter.
